This week's food our baby is the size of: 38 weeks — land o’ leeks

(By Erik)

We’re still representing the baby’s length and not mass this week at BabyCenter.com. This week, if you want to know the approximate length of our baby … take a leek!

Sorry, couldn’t resist.

The site says that Maggie should be about 6.8 pounds, but our OB/GYN told us today that she is, in fact, 6.5 pounds. But she’s healthy and everything looks good.

(Yes, we've also reached the coveted "baby with fist in mouth" photo on babycenter.com. Click on the baby if you want to see the whole, bizarre-o image. NOTE: Ann thought this feature presented a bit too much information.)

We’re getting really close now. I’ll post a few more details (and maybe some photos of the baby’s room) soon.

My niece was born with scars on both of her wrists from sucking on them in the womb. I guess she couldn't find her fists.

I'd love to see photos of the baby's room. Are you going to tell us which pictures you decided to use? Or have you already told us and I just missed it?

You might find this interesting. I had to put the address in 2 lines so it would fit on the comment section.

Gina:

Those photos are cool. I checked them out this morning. Thanks.

Alisha:

Yes, we ended up going with six of the seven 8 by 10" photos and have them on the wall now. I'm considering putting some 5 by 7s and 4 by 6s on the walls alongside them. I have the frames but haven't had the time yet.

Basically, the little Zimbabwe kid tying his shoe got the proverbial "boot." But he likely will reappear as a smaller photo on Maggie's walls.

I'll post some photos soon. We should have the crib sheet set in the next few days to make the room look a bit more complete.
